Client
eWorld Enterprises LLC is a U.S. based holding company for an array of initiatives in the career management space. The eWorld goal is to supercharge existing offline communities with proprietary online and offline tools and resources, and to build similar, supercharged communities where they are needed and do not yet exist.
Challenge
In November 2004, eWorld Enterprises launched its innovative, custom-designed online system that includes online recruiting and job search tools, and a number of additional online career management resources. The project required thorough compatibility testing to make sure that all visual elements of the Web system function properly in a wide range of user evironments.
Solution
The test team consisting of four members (a test group manager and three test engineers) developed test plans and test cases. Compatibility testing of the myWorkForceMinistry.com system involved.
- cross-browser testing (latest versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Firefox, Netscape Navigator, Opera, including appropriate service packs and security updates); and
- browser resolution testing (640x480, 800x600, and 1024x768; 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit color).
Technologies Utilized
- Bugzilla + Test Runner
- Mercury Quick Test
Results
In the process of compatibility testing performed for eWorld Enterprises, over 50 test cases were run, and over 70 defects - found and reported. The system met all customer's functional requirements, and it is successfully working in the on-line mode at present.
